SCRIPTURES TO PRAY WHEN YOU HAVE FEAR or ANXIETY

OverProject 53.jpeg

FEAR starts with a dose of bad news or a feeling that peaks your emotions, it spirals into ANXIETY. When anxiety is not dealt with, it can quickly spiral deeper and turn into DESPAIR which (when unfulfilled) leads to DEPRESSION. We believe the Scripture gives us victory over every fear. We believe that the victory on the cross is Jesus’ way of crushing the fear of death! That is the good news, the Gospel. So let’s pray the Scripture over our fear.

-We should declare these 5 things over our spirit, over our homes, and over our world.

  1. God is in Control: Colossians 1:16-17 - for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.

2. We will see PEACE: 1 Corinthians 14:33 - For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

3. We will have no FEAR: Psalm 27:1 - The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.

4. God has a WILL for us to accomplish - ACTS 13:36 (NLT) - …for after David had done the will of God in his own generation, he died and was buried with his ancestors…

5. God can reveal PURPOSE in the PANDEMIC - ECCLESIASTES 3:1 (NLT) - There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

HOW TO PRAY DURING THE COVID-19, CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

Have you been thinking. “I should really be praying a lot right now during this Coronavirus thing?” But maybe you just don’t know what to pray or even how to pray? Here are some of the Scriptures that we used during our Livestream Prayer Night last night. Praying the Scriptures is POWERFUL!

PRAY AGAINST: THE CORONA VIRUS -

Exodus 23:25 “Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you…"

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." ~

PRAY FOR: OUR NATION -

2 Chronicles 7:14 - if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

PRAY FOR: OUR CITY -

Jeremiah 29:7 - And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”

PRAY FOR: OUR LEADERS -

1 Timothy 2:1-2 - I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

PRAY FOR: THE ELDERLY -

Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

PRAY FOR: THOSE WHO ARE DEPRESSED or have ANXIETY -

Proverbs 12:25- Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down (depression), but a good word cheers it up.

PRAY FOR: FOR PEACE IN OUR HOMES -

1 Corinthians 1:10 “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”

PRAY FOR: THE PRODIGALS - those who have walked away from faith

Matthew 18:12-13 New Living Translation (NLT) - “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? 13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away!

PRAY FOR: OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.
